⚡ Thunder & Lightning

Privacy

The plain-language version first: this is an open project by design. People's names, birth details and reports you add are published for anyone to see — that is the point of the shared network. Enter another person's details only with their permission, and mark a report "private" if it should stay yours alone.

Who is responsible

Thunder & Lightning is a private, non-commercial project. Legal residence: Italy. Contact: hello@tlsyn.com

What is stored

Accounts: username, an optional display name, an optional email (only used for password resets and, if you opt in, the daily digest), and a securely hashed password.

People & charts: the name, birth date, time and place you enter, the positions computed from them, and any contact links you explicitly choose to publish. These are public unless created as private.

Reports: the generated text and PDF. Public unless you ticked "private report".

Usage statistics: we count page views with a short-lived anonymised visitor token — no advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, no profiling. The only cookie is the session cookie that keeps you signed in.

Where it lives

The site runs on Hugging Face Spaces; the database is backed up to a private Hugging Face dataset. Hugging Face may process technical data (such as IP addresses) as the hosting provider.

AI writing

To write a report, the computed chart data and first names are sent to the AI model chosen for that report — Anthropic, or another provider routed through OpenRouter. They are used only to write the text.

Email

Password-reset links and the optional daily digest are sent through Resend, only to the address you gave us. No marketing, ever.

Location

The live-sky page uses a location only when you tap the 📍 button — an approximate, network-based lookup used once to set the map point. It is not stored.

The globe

The globe (Meridian) computes a chart in memory and returns the facts; raw birth data is not written to application logs. Interpretations are cached against a hash of the chart and a coarse geohash of where you clicked — never against your name. The people you can open on the globe are the ones already in your Thunder & Lightning network, under the same public/private rule as everywhere else. Forget this chart clears the current session's chart id and asks the server to drop the prose cached against it. Typing in the place field queries the configured Photon geocoder as you type; the chart service receives the resolved moment and coordinates and returns positions rather than storing a birth record. The optional AI prose is opt-in — the globe works without it.

Your rights

You can see, correct and delete your data: edit your own entry with your edit password, delete your account's entries yourself, or simply email us — we will remove your entry and reports. Deletion is real and carries through to the backup. You also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority — in Italy, the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali.

One honest line

Thunder & Lightning is for self-reflection, curiosity and joy — it is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.
